ASTM Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications was formed in 1902. D01 meets twice a year, in January and June, with about 125 members attending over four days of technical meetings. The Committee, with a membership of approximately 610, currently has jurisdiction of over 675 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Volumes 6.01, 6.02, 6.03, and 6.04. D01 has 30 technical subcommittees that maintain jurisdiction over these standards. These standards have and continue to play a preeminent role in all aspects important to the industry including: classification, sampling, preparation, components, application, analysis, quality assurance and end-use performance requirements.
