a general trend to control coatings compositions on a molecular level.
Nanotechnology is the major driver through which controlled properties
and self assembly of sequential macromolecular layers are possible.
This course explores emerging nanotechnologies and discusses their
application in various coatings and paint formulations. |

Engineers and Scientists from around the globe will be gathering in
Birmingham, England later this year, for what the Institution of
Chemical Engineers (IChemE) describe as their biggest ever event.
ChemEng 08 takes place between 28-30 October at the National Exhibition
Conference, and organizer, Caroline Smith says she has high hopes:
?We?re expecting over 1000 of the planet?s leading engineers and
scientists to attend what should be an exciting and thought-provoking
occasion.
?There isn?t a day goes by that climate change and global warming
doesn?t appear on the news or in the press and it will be scientists
and engineers who face the responsibility of solving these problems.
?These solutions will be high on the agenda at ChemEng 08 and we?re
anticipating passionate and honest debate regarding many of the
proposed solutions. ?Europe has lacked opportunities where engineers
and scientist can share ideas and network like this for some years and
we fully intend for it to become a regular fixture on the scientific
calendar,? she added.
The event ? which also incorporates IChemE?s Global Forum and Annual
Awards Dinner, will feature a range of guest speakers, including
ex-NASA astronaut and chemical engineer, Al Sacco. |
