Re: Metal Finishing Managing Editor Resigns
Patti Ann Frost, Metal Finishing’s managing editor, has resigned from the company, effective Oct. 31. Frost, a 34-year employee with the magazine, recently relocated to Newbern, N.C.
“On behalf of the entire staff here at Metal Finishing, I offer countless thanks to Patti Ann for her three-plus decades of dedicated service to this magazine,” said Reginald Tucker, editor. “Although I only had the pleasure and privilege of working with Patti Ann over the course of the last year and a half, I can fully appreciate why she is held in such high regard by not only her co-workers, but also by so many members in our industry. We will miss her valuable contributions to the day-to-day operations at the magazine, her commitment to this 100-year-old publication, and her positive attitude and unselfishness. We all wish her well in this next phase of her life.”
In her role as managing editor, Patti Ann juggled multiple projects simultaneously. Primarily, she was responsible for following up with authors submitting technical papers to the magazine. She also maintained our internal editorial contact database and painstakingly prepared the backmatter material for our annual guidebooks and directories—some of our most important projects. Frost also performed a variety of production-related duties as well as managed the flow of press releases and editorial/new product submissions. Additionally, Patti Ann regularly assisted Metal Finishing’s sales managers via a variety of tasks, and often manned the magazine’s booth at trade shows.
Eugene Nadel, publisher emeritus and former editor of Metal Finishing magazine, hired Patti Ann at the age of 18. He called her one of Metal Finishing’s “most dedicated and devoted” employees. Her successor will be named at a later date. In the interim, please e-mail your press releases, new product announcements, and technical paper submissions to Reginald Tucker, editor, at re.tucker@elsevier.com.
