Fortune 500 Company seeks Research & Development Manager / Principal Finish Development Engineer for employment opportunity in central North Carolina.

Description:

*         Responsible for the development of new decorative finishes

*         Responsible for identifying, scoping and implementing cost
reduction opportunities through process improvement or new technology
development.

*         Responsible for defining appropriate cosmetic, appearance and
performance requirements including cost targets.

*         Responsible for problem solving skills, with in-depth knowledge of
DOE techniques and applications.

*         Understand the essence of new finishes and finish / manufacturing
processes and distinguish viable candidates from non-viable options.

*         Responsible for development manufacturing processes for new
finishes (plating, powder coating and PVD processes) across all focus
factories in order to meet performance and appearance requirements as well
as targeted production process capabilities.

*         Assume project leadership responsibilities throughout the process
development phase until finish has been bookshelved.

*         Provide technical support and assistance to all focus factories
including new product engineering group.

*         Schedule and or participate in design reviews and project reviews.

*         Responsible for documenting Bookshelving process and creating
process manuals including process capability studies.

*         Educate themselves on any new finish technologies or innovations,
compiling and preparing finishing data for module updates and technical
presentation to management.
