Re: Southern Metal Finishing Conference Update
[color="DarkSlateBlue"]This 2006 Southern Metal Finishing conference is almost here! This year’s much anticipated conference will focus on the practical applications of both powder coating and plating. Registrations have been arriving daily from plant/line management, key operators, sales personnel, purchasing supervisors. They are all joining us to take advantage of the two day classes and workshops on subjects such as the basics of powder coating, intermediate and advanced courses on electroplating and innovative pollution prevention.
We’ll kick off the event with our 5th annual Swamp Fox Scramble golf tournament held at the Patriots Point Links on the Charleston Harbor early in the morning on Sunday August 6th which will be followed by an awards banquet an BBQ lunch.
Our courses will begin on Monday morning August 7 with two-day courses and workshops taught and hosted by TIGER Drylac Powder Coatings, the Kushner Electroplating School, and the Charlotte Metrolina Branch of the American Electroplating and Surface Finishing Society (AESF). Courses, workshops and technical sessions will cover basic and advanced powder coating, electroplating, and waste treatment technologies. The conference is one of the few opportunities for training and education of this caliber for metal finishers located in the South. It is a must for metal finishing professionals who wish to enhance their technical education, participate in lively and informative discussion of technical issues for our industry, and learn new techniques to remain competitive in the new “world economy”.
The Embassy Suites Historic Charleston provides an excellent gateway to this charming and gracious city. It is located in the historic district of Charleston which is constantly ranked by Conde Nast Travel as one of the top 10 national destinations in America!. It adjoins the beautiful Marion Square and is within walking distance of excellent shopping, fine dining and great nightlife. Museums, carriage ride tours, historic homes and secluded gardens are abundant amid the breathtaking architecture of Charleston. The hotel is a fascinating destination in itself. The original structure was a tobacco warehouse constructed in 1758. In 1822 it became an armory or arsenal, and from 1842 to 1922 it served as the campus of The Military College of South Carolina (The Citadel). Citadel cadets came from this building to fire the first shots on Fort Sumter.
We have negotiated a conference rate of $119.00 per night at this first class hotel for all attendees.
