Only one paper in each track was awarded the distinction of Best of Track paper, and one paper was awarded the singular distinction of Best Paper of ET ’08. There were six tracks in all, covering the following topics: Billet Process and Equipment; Extrusion/Die Practical; Extrusion/Die Theoretical; Extrusion Equipment; Management Issues and Value-Added Processes. The papers were presented during the Technical Sessions held Wednesday, May 14 through Friday, May 16, 2008 in Orlando, Florida.
Noted for its outstanding content overall, this year’s award for Best Paper of ET ’08 was “Scrap Allocation” authored by Chris Jowett of Alcan Primary Metal Group, Canada; Johnie Adams and Chris Daughetee of Magnode Corporation, USA; Greg Lea, of MI-Metals, USA; Oliver A.
