Gold plating - food contact - EU certification

I am having gold-plated bottle pourers (i.e. come in contact with alcohol) produced for an EU client.  We have tried various options but either the extractable nickel or copper limits are being exceeded.  Is there a simple solution to plating gold so that the product can pass EU certification (EU regulation 1935/2004)?

I’d be grateful for any suggestions.
