I'm no expert on the subject but I do know that a car type battery is considered very "pure" power and can be used in many cases (in a small hobby type situation) for plating - but here is the problem.....

You have not given us enough info to help.  If you will provide more specifics about what exactly you are trying to accomplish I’m sure you'll get more response.  Let us know what the plating solution is, the substrate, size, etc...
