Topic: Hard chrrome below 146 Celcium
Dear colleagues,
does anyone have experience with hard chrome coatings in cryogenic working conditions?? We are asked if there would be a problem to grind, hard chrome plate and final grind at standard dimensions, an SS316 sleeve worn internally (Φ112int.dia Χ 120mm), that is working at -146Celcium degrees temperature.
I assume that it reaches this temp. gradually and is not subject to a "cold" shock.
Inside the sleeve works a piston with teflon rings and our customer wants to be sure that no peel-off of chrome will occur.
Look at foto attached
Thank you in advance
Regards
