Re: SHG Zinc Prices Continue to Increase - Mar. 29th, 2006

In reference to a previous post on Thurs. Mar. 23rd, 2006 -SHG Zinc prices have continued to increase daily. On Mar. 13th, 2006 zinc was trading at approx. $2250/MT, today Mar. 29th, 2006, zinc closed at approx. $2610/MT. This is over a 15% increase ($350/MT) or approx. $0.15/lb. to both the producer/supplier as well as the end-user. Nearly 20,000 MT of SHG zinc has been purchased out of the U.S. LME warehouses in March 2006. U.S. LME stocks have dropped to nearly 200,000 MT, volumes in Jan. and Feb. 2006 were nearly 400,000 MT. Zinc is in high demand and continues to prove itself as prices continue to increase. October 26th, 2006 - LME Cash settlement for SHG zinc reached again, an annual high today of $4080/MT, from previous 2006 high yesterday and and last week. Record prices which had not been this high since back on May 11th, 2006. US LME stocks are depleting as US demand is frazzled over price, premiums and availablity.
