could some one explane the differences and chemicals used, thought they were the same but see big differences in temp. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. between blueing and nitriting

Some formulations include the use of nitrates and nitrites (sodium or potassium), thus "nitriting". The temperature differences depend on the chemical formulation, finish desired, etc. True blueing normally involves extremely high temperatures (300 degrees F), is very dangerous, and should only be done by experienced professionals.
