Monday   9:00—5:00  August 7[/color]

This multi-topic day-long course is designed for both the novice powder coater as an introduction to powder coating and the more experienced powder coater as a brush up on the fundamentals. This course will cover such topics as:

1. Powder Chemistries: Understanding powder chemistry for the non-chemist. What powder formulations are better for which applications?

2. Powder Manufacturing: Quick basics on powder coating manufacturing. What happens before it gets to you.

3. Laboratory Capabilities:  Custom formulations. What tests are performed and what do those tests mean to you?

4. Powder Application Methods: Powder coating application methods including gun types, transfer efficiency, cure schedules, custom techniques and everything you need for the applicator.

5. Powder Trouble Shooting: This section covers just that, the problems you meet in the real world.

6. Powder Cost Analysis: Ever wonder how to price you jobs. This segment outlines theoretical cost, applied cost and actual cost principals. In other words, help you to save instead of waste those hard earned dollars.

7. Questions & Answers:  This wrap-up section will provide a round-table of experts to answer your powder related issues.

This second day, multi-segmented course is designed to educate in specific target zones of powder coating. It will target the following areas:
 
1. Cleaning & Pretreatment:  As one of the most important steps to a perfect powder coating finish, this presentation will provide you with a superb knowledge of cleaning and pretreatment for both new and experienced powder coaters alike. (presented by Steve Pearl of Chemetall Oakite).

2. Powder Coating Application Equipment: Some say, you are only as good as your equipment. This basic course is designed for any level of powder coater as a strong overview to powder coating application equipment including guns, racks, booths, ground and ovens. (presented by Eddie Rhodes of C&C Industrial Sales)

3. Powder Coating Sales: This presentation is a perfect course for owners, managers and purchasing professionals of powder coating shops. Topics covered will include accurate costing of powder, job quoting and sales techniques for any level. (presented by Camron Mitchell of Shannon Industries)

[color="navy"]Electroplating Know How II
Monday & Tuesday   9:00—5:00  August 7 & 8[/color]

The two day program, based on the world famous correspondence course, Electroplating Know How II covers such topics as: (1) Mathematics of electroplating, (2) Chemistry and electrochemistry of electroplating, (3) Environmental issues, (4) Safety issues, (5) Plating cycles, (6) Cleaning and rinsing techniques and (7) Testing procedures. The program is designed for supervisors, operators, sales representatives, engineers and others desiring a better understanding of the basics of electroplating. Dr. Kushner, Director of the Kushner Electroplating School, teaches the program.  The Kushner Electroplating School was founded in 1947 and has been offering training programs for 58 years. The school specializes in correspondence, two-day seminars and onsite training programs in the area of electroplating and metal finishing. Kushner Electroplating also offers programs specifically tailored to individual company’s needs.
