Re: Metal Recovery Technology
Hello guys
As I was doing some research on new alternatives for metal recovery I have found a new technology that can recover metals in solution (into a metallic form) before it goes through your waste water treatment.
So here is the website: Global Ionix breakthrough technology that recovers metals in solution

Re: Metal Recovery Technology
This looks to be an advanced electrowinning technology. Metal is plated out on a rotating cathode, presumably to reduce concentration polarization (depletion of metal ions near the surface of the cathode) and increase current efficiency. Once the cathode is ladened with powdery plated metal, the plating process is stopped and somehow the powdery deposit is knocked off the cathode into solution and is filtered out.
Electrowinning is not really an end-of-pipe compliance technology; it won't consistently get you down to low discharge numbers. Therefore, it needs to be evaluated as a metal recovery technology. I don't know the price of this equipment, but it looks involved. Therefore, I think it would take a special application to provide a decent payback.
