Michael Barone is Senior Writer, U.S. News & World Report and a Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. Barone grew up in Detroit and Birmingham, Michigan. He graduated from Harvard College (1966) and Yale Law School (1969), and was an editor of the Harvard Crimson and the Yale Law Journal.

Over the years he has written for many other publications, including the Economist, the New York Times, the Weekly Standard, the New Republic, National Review, the American Spectator, American Enterprise, the Times Literary Supplement and the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Times of London. His column is syndicated by Creators Syndicate and appears in the Washington Times, the Chicago Sun-Times and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Mr. Barone is a contributor to the Fox News Channel and has appeared on many other television programs.
